Sacraments
In order to baptise your baby you should book the date at least a month prior to the baptism. For new parents they are obliged to attend a course, which is usually held on the third Tuesday of the month at 7.00pm. We hold Baptisms on most Sundays at 12 noon.
However, if that is not suitable, another day and time can be arranged. Parents must have a baptismal candle and bib (an extra white garment) for the Ceremony. The main godparent must be a practising and confirmed Catholic and over 16 years of age.
For the school children and those attending the Parish Education Program (with the Catechists), the program is outlined by the school. This includes Workshops and a Commitment Mass.
Five steps for a good reconciliation:
Examine your conscience
Be sincerely sorry for your sins.
Confess your sins
Resolve to amend your life.
After your confession do the penance the priest assigned.
The children attending Catholic Schools and those from the Parish Education Program follow the course outlined by the Archdiocese. As well as the Sacramental knowledge, it includes a Commitment Mass and Parent/ student Workshops.
At Highgate, First Holy Communion is on a specific day.
